How to Prepare for Your Corporate Headshot Session

A corporate portrait session runs smoother, and the results look better, when there’s a little preparation on both sides beforehand. Here’s what actually helps.

Before the day

Confirm the shot list with your team in advance — individual headshots, group shots, or both — and share it with everyone being photographed so there are no surprises on the day. If it’s a group session, agree on a dress code ahead of time; consistency across the team (all blazers, or all open-collar) reads better in a leadership grid than a mix of styles.

On the day

Book a little more time than you think you need — a five-minute buffer per person adds up quickly for a large team, and a slightly relaxed schedule photographs better than a rushed one. A well-lit, uncluttered space (even a meeting room or lobby corner) is usually enough for on-site portraits; nothing elaborate is required from your end.

What to bring

Just yourself, presentable and comfortable. Solid colours photograph more cleanly than fine patterns or logos, and a touch-up (a comb, a lint roller) five minutes before your turn goes a long way.
